Dissertation - Observing Young Children's Developmental Support of Toddler Siblings During Play

I am recruiting families with young children aged 3 to 8 years and 1 ½ to 3 years for my dissertation research project to learn more about the developmentally supportive behaviors young children use during play with their younger siblings. I want to know if we can identify these behaviors in videos of the siblings playing together and learn what factors may affect those developmentally supportive behaviors.

Participation involves completing a series of brief surveys in an online questionnaire that should take about 20 minutes and then either recording and uploading a video or meeting with a research assistant to record a video.

This project is Utah State University IRB Protocol# 12351. The principle investigator for this project is Dr. Lisa Boyce ([email protected] or 435-797-2713). The co-investigator is Dr. Lori Roggman ([email protected]).
